Packaging and Merchandising Design | Brand Design Project


INTRODUCTION

For this project, students must create five (5) merchandise items, including a POP display, based on Project 2. This project aims to help students develop their skills in creating and designing merchandise that reflects the brand and packaging design.


Requirements:

  • Research and analysis: Students must research and analyze the brand and packaging design. This will help them understand the brand's values, target audience, and visual elements and aesthetics of the packaging design. Students must develop five merchandise concepts that reflect the brand and packaging design. These concepts should be original and aligned with the brand's message and target audience.
  • Design and production: Students must create a digital mock-up of the five merchandise items.


Assessment Criteria:

  • Creativity and originality: The merchandise should be unique, creative, and original, reflecting the brand's message and values.
  • Visual design: The merchandise items should be aesthetically pleasing and visually aligned with the packaging design.
  • Brand messaging: The merchandise items should effectively communicate the brand's message and values.
1. ANALYSE  BRAND BLOOMIES

After completing our previous project centred around Bloomies, where we crafted the packaging design based on extensive research, I am preparing to create merchandise for Bloomies. Bloomies, inspired by colour psychology, minimalist design, and sustainability, represents the values of Gen Z. With a palette of purple and green tones, Bloomies radiates sophistication and environmental consciousness. Let's continue this journey of creativity and innovation!

2. MERCHANDISE ITEMS
We have explored various merchandise ideas for Bloomies to enhance the picnic experience with our delicious nuggets. The lecturer has approved our ideas, highlighting their alignment with Bloomies' brand values and creative vision.

Here are some of the items I have chosen with sketches:

Bottle:
The bottle design we have chosen is both functional and creative. It features a unique, ergonomic shape inspired by Bloomies' vibrant colour palette. The purple hue reinforces brand consistency, making it a portable and visually striking companion for on-the-go enjoyment.

Cutlery Set:
Our reusable cutlery set is a creative expression of eco-consciousness. It is made from environmentally friendly materials and has a minimalist design that echoes the simplicity and elegance of Bloomies' packaging. This aligns with the brand's commitment to minimizing environmental impact and adds sophistication to the dining experience.

Our bowl design is playful and fun, with carefully integrated illustrations reminiscent of those on the packaging. The green and purple hues connect visually to Bloomies' brand identity, and the bowl becomes a canvas for communal enjoyment, highlighting the shared nature of Bloomies in a picnic setting.

Our reusable bag is creative and practical, with a foldable and compact design that sets it apart. It adheres to Bloomies' colour scheme and embodies the brand's commitment to sustainability, urging users to embrace an eco-friendly lifestyle.

Pop-up Fridge:
Our pop-up fridge is functional and visually appealing, mirroring Bloomies' clean and modern aesthetic. It reinforces the brand's dedication to freshness, ensuring that our nuggets are enjoyed at their best, whether at a picnic or any outdoor adventure.

Each of these merchandise items is a creative and original ambassador of the brand's messaging, communicating convenience, sustainability, and the joy of shared moments associated with Bloomies. The lecturer's approval underscores our merchandise exploration's successful fusion of creative vision and brand coherence.

3. FINALE DESIGN

The following text describes a range of merchandise items offered by Bloomies that reflect the brand's values of uniqueness, convenience, sustainability, creativity, and freshness.
